[Iowa-dx] A vision for IAGP's future...

I understand your viewpoint, Jim, but actually, my personal opinion is
that if we just respond all the time to current, as well as potential,
issues, by publically promoting our Green Party platform as the
obvious countering solution to the typical political ratchet-jawing and
thoughtless partisan legislation, then it will quite possibly come to
the forefront that Green Party, itself, is the solution to our political
problems.
I do not want the Green position, itself, to become any form of
partisanship that can be identified as anti-mainstream irrationality.
If they can segregate us from the public political forum by labeling
us as "them", then we will have defeated ourselves. Our party's
platform, I think, is the key, which requires us to actually know our
platform.
Secondly, finding good quality candidates to fill positions is our biggest
hurdle. If we can only find qualified lawyers to run for Attorney
General by looking for them on top of Mount Everest, we are not
succeeding. We need to attract those qualified people to come into
our Party by virtue of (again) our party platform and the values we
have endorsed. For instance, being equal rights oriented for same
sex couples does not mean that our Green Party is a party of
homosexuals, rather, it relates to basic human and natizenship rights.
We must be all-inclusive in our approach and goals. We are lucky to
have such a qualified candidate as Wendy Barth, but in various
other disciplines and occupations, I am sure we are missing out on
candidates we may already have available IF we can attract them into
our party and encourage them to participate. Then, we must all
support those candidates and publicize them.
"A government is a tyranny that rules over the people, whereas
a Democracy is a natizen-participatory legal and political organization
that represents the inclusive best interests of the public without
exclusionary elitism or prejudice. The anti-Democracy republic was
created by the Roman Empire to represent the powerful elite
within their monarchy empire. --- Ronald Kinum a.k.a. Libris Fidelis
