[Iowa-dx] Prompt Investigation Required

This is qualified as an unverified rumor with a qualification.  But it
requires prompt action.

There are a group of guys who eat lunches at Wesley Center, next
to The Pit on Dubuque Street.  These guys often speak a lot of
bull-shit, but also, they also have an odd qualification for being
accurate in their talk on certain subjects.  They were correct TWO
WEEKS before the news reported the transfer of two additional
aircraft carriers to the Gulf, and they said then that it was in
preparation for an invasion of Iran.

Today they said the following, which both needs preliminary
investigation, AND very immediately needs anti-war groups to
mount a huge protest in front of the United Nations BEFORE THIS
FRIDAY, calling for UN to STOP this second illegal invasion of another
non-warring country in violation of the more than a half-dozen
international laws and treaties against starting wars:

At 4 a.m. this coming Friday (they did not know if it was Washington
time or Iraq time) US is going to invade Iran.  The troops sent to
Iraq already (23,000) for "the Surge" were all sent to the Iran-Iraq
border, NOT to Baghdad; and.... the troops in the surrounding
area were repositioned in and around Baghdad to begin "the
Surge", leaving the surrounding areas vulnerable without US
protection as forces are re-arranged.  The news in our nation did
not mention why the "insurgents" left Baghdad and focused in
the outlying areas, now we know.

According to the "table" of guys at Wesley Center, this US force
redeployment to Baghdad is in preparation for any backlash in
Baghdad for USA going into Iran, BUT THERE ARE FOUR MILLION
PEOPLE IN BAGHDAD!

In addition, now I already know from National Public Radio and
from Amy Goodman's Democracy Now! that our forces already
have seventeen permanent military bases in Iraq, including Baghdad
Airport.  But the word is from "the table" that fourteen NEW bases
were just approved in Iraq!  They said our USA already has 730
military bases around the world in 130 countries, and there are only
about 177 countries in the world.

Now, I do not want to sound like an alarmist, but if this is true, I
think our nation is in a world of hurt.  Congress NEVER GAVE
BUSH THE BOY PUPPET permission to attack Iran!  If we sit on
our butts and this invasion truly does go though, we need to
blame ourselves for not reacting.  If this is just bullshit, we need
to verify that it is or is not.

So I leave it on the table.
