This whole event was superb !!!!!
This is the way of drawing constructive attention to the anti-war movement.
Marches are important too, but this shows our community involvement. I
also particularly enjoyed and revelled in the high school students when they
marched into the Ped Mall. Talk about IMPACT ! That could NOT have
been planned any better! And to think the mayor was right there in the
plaza at the same time as the announcement about the high school students'
arrival ! Whoa, that was AWESOME! <and I usually detest people using that
word, but I was definitely awe-struck!>
I was very astonished when I saw the small street sweeper arrive in the
Ped Mall. The driver didn't seem, at first, to really want to do it. He
parked
the sweeper in front of one of the old abandoned storefronts for a while,
then
he came back and started his machine working on the walkway. The city
NEVER brings in a sweeper for the Ped Mall, they have people WALK in with
brooms and little butt-scoops. I've only seen a street sweeper in there
once,
when there were leaves all over the place. Those chalk figures were very
effecive before the street sweeper got there, most of the people I saw on
the Ped Mall were looking down at them as they walked, that is, until the
street sweeper got there.
But the whole event was perfect.
