The other campuses here in Iowa I cannot speak for, however, by my
experienceand expulsion (with a "B" average") from Uof I speaks for the
fact that Uof I isnothing but a money mill that lacks true accreditation
because of the totallybusiness profit-making orientation of the
university. And I know of people whohave had their transcripts be
dis-allowed due to UofI academic "standards"! The idea that the other
universities around our nation do not know what is goingon at UofI would
be a ludicrous folly - - they know of UofI's four week classesand of
their income-based admissions policy, which I am suspicious alsorelates
to a possible income-based graduation policy as well, but I do notknow
that. But I have seen through seminars that UofI relies heavily onindoctri=
nation
rather than education, that it is a trade school with limitedscholastic
avenues and wants to focus on being a medical technology tradeschool, in
competition with Saint Louis and a few other "Medi-technology"cities. But
GREEN ? ? ? ? The programs at UofI for recycling are to me the onlypart
of being green that I can see at UofI. Their Environmental Studies
programis wrongly placed in the Geography Department, not in the Biology
Departmentwhere it belongs, not to say that Environmental Geography would
not be alegitimate study within Geography, and/but, there are a few
universities in thisnation that recognize that "Environmental Studies"
SHOULD be called (anda few of them do call it) Environmental Science.=20
However, in most universitiesacross our nation, "Environmental Science"
is really waste treatment chemistry, not biologic science, and that is an
injustice. One last thing... I consider "visual ecology" to be
inclusively important in the"Green Environment". The hideous modern
architecture at UofI and the OakdaleCampus is unnecessary for "green
architecture" to be utilized. We can stillhave eye-appealing
architecture, and besides, metal-walled buildings are notthe least bit
"green" because they do not contribute to passive environmentcontrol:
stone and mansonry walls retain the night's coolness for during theday
and retains the day's heat for warming in the night when properlyengineered,
and this is well known. Also, heat-induction clerestory ceilingsdraw
cool air up to dispplace warm air to the ceiling and out the roof duringday,
and when closed, retains room warmth with recirculating ducts to bringwarmer
air back down with a minimum of energy usage at night. I do notsee any
of that at UofI, nor do I see UofI embracing the proven quarter-centuryener=
gy
form of pure hydrogen, but then, if we switch to pure hydrogen, itwill
eliminate electricity generation plants and gasoline stations and we willnot
need biofuel! UofI will be making its own electricity and motor vehiclefuel
out of water, and all those polluting electric vehicle batteries will not
beneeded any longer! No, UofI could not put The Establishment out ofbusine=
ss,
now could it? No, that would be treason! Ronald Kinuma.k.a. Libris
Fidelis
