The following posting was submitted as a request for
funding (a donation). However, the information in it
is very crucial in understanding that there are very
important grass roots organizations who really need our
financial support for the work that they do. This is
one of them. I obtain much valuable information from
their online publication and bulletins under the name ofPublic Citizen.=20
I just want everyone to be aware of thiscrucial organization and their
fundraising needs, whichare as critical as our own Green Party's funding
needs. Ron Kinuma.k.a. Libris Fidelis

Dear Libris,

Six years ago President Bush signed an executive order to
limit public access to the records of past presidents.
This order was one of the first of the President's actions
demonstrating his obsession with secrecy.

Soon after that executive order, Public Citizen challenged
it in Court. We claimed that these provisions violated
the Presidential Records Act, which gives the Archives
control over records of former presidents and vice
presidents generally requiring it to make them public
within 12 years after a president or vice president leaves
office.

On October 1, 2007, a federal court struck down President
Bush's order.

The court has begun the process of dismantling the web of
secrecy President Bush has been building over the past six
years. But it is only a beginning. The court did not reach
challenges to other aspects of the executive order,
holding them unripe because no former officeholder has yet
exercised the unilateral veto power granted by the order.

Help us continue this fight against Bush secrecy and to do
all the important work we do . We won a battle on
October 1. We are in it for the long-haul. Make a generous
contribution to Public Citizen today:
