To the first answer, precisely and thank you. You could answer in any
terms or time period. You could consider feminist statements, gender
roles in society, the suffragettes, feminist movements etc. Question is
open to your interpretation.

Ok guys, save your insults, I pose no threat as a 'feminist' myself. I
was looking for intelligent answers regarding the way the female figure
has changed and how feminism may have caused some changes. This is just
research for modern days people's opinions to aid a 10,000 word
dissertation.

well put.

'Medium Dave'; I stated the question was to gather and analyse opinions
to AID a dissertation. Perhaps you may wish to re-read the initial
question. I do appreciate your interpretation though, honest and open
answer. Best Answer - Chosen by Asker Green Party Ron's Avatar by Green

There is no one effect. It has as many different modes as it has effects.

Females have ALWAYS wanted to change themselves to be attractive! As the
old saying goes, "Females are never satisfied!" Worse, the high heel and
the brassiere were both invented by MEN! So men have an input in this
also.

In the 1960s, "liberated" women threw away their brassieres, until they
realized from the primitive culture studies that tribal women who went
topless had stretched breasts that looked like squash fruit! So they went
back to brassieres to look more youthful.

Women ALWAYS want to show their bodies off to attract males, even if only
to attract appreciation but more importantly to "catch" a special man, so
most women wear revealing blouses and very short skirts, not to mention
that bikinis actually reveal more of a woman's bare anatomy than do her
underclothing panty and brassiere!. That results in women taking extreme
measures in their diet and exercise regimen. Oh sure, there are women who
just do not care, but most women will suffer before they allow themselves
to gain weight -- up to a certain age and family status!

Feminism, which ideally is the ideology of promoting women into equality,
something many women do not want because they want to be cared for as a
sign of fidelity, has gone back and forth in pendulum changes as time
goes on. Most women, however, as housewives in particular, want the man
to care for her without interfering with her sense of tranquility, which
reassures her of her matrimonial support. That becomes crucial once she
starts producing a family. It is probably the true form of communism,
with the husband/daddy (to the wife and kids) being the tsar. It becomes
a round-robbin self-fulfilling prophesy of male chauvenism, perhaps?

It would appear that feminism always "goes too far" and then females run
right back where females came from. Having said that, women today have
more liberties and rights than they ever did, and yet, they are still
just as vulnerable to abuse and exploitation as they ever were! Once
feminism finds its equilibrium, it will have eliminated its need to
exist, I believe.
