About this Campaign
Despite strong and contrary advice from many who would like to see me win
this election. I am not going to run this campaign in the traditional
way.
I will neither solicit nor accept any contributions to this campaign.
People, especially those without enough of a voice in our county, have
better things, including more important campaigns, to spend their hard-earn=
ed
money on than this race. Any contributions I receive will be returned
with a suggestion of better places for that money.
Some tell me I cannot possibly win this way, and they may be right.
Still, the way I see it is this. I still believe in grassroots
communication, and the flow of public discourse in Johnson County is more
vibrant than any place on the planet. I still believe in the core
conscience of the people in this county. I know that people can do the
right thing and honestly explore the issues inherent to this campaign,
share that information with each other, and make the appropriate choice
on Election Day. I believe it is past time for the people to take over
their elections rather than be swayed by expensive, slick, and
meaningless paraphernalia. This is an opportunity for us to do that.
I=92m going to be over-dependent on the internet, because it is free, and I
trust in those who care to share the message of this campaign with those
who may not have access to it. Along with others, I will put some sweat
contributions in doing some door knocking and kitchen table discussions
in those neighborhoods where lack of Internet access is more likely.
I will not be printing nor distributing signs, buttons, or campaign
literature for the same reason. Of course, anyone who wants to make a
home-made sign or button is free to do so.
If I lose with this strategy, I lose, and I will learn the lessons I need
to learn from that failure. However, should I win, the people of our
county will know that I will arrive in office without any person or PAC
having any sway over my service to them.

the best way you can help is to vote for me yourself, persuade ten other
people to vote for me, and persuade those ten to each persuade ten more,
etc.
