Since I have been having so much trouble trying to get a realisticresponse
regarding carpooling to the Republican National Conventionin Minneapolis,
I thought I would take the liberty of creating an opencarpool registry
for anyone WANTING to carpool and for anyoneOFFERING to drive a carpool
to ANY event now and in the future. This is not intended to be a national
open carpool service! I am justdoing it for our local area in Iowa and
for various organizations andgroups. What I want to do is, if something
comes up that people need a rideto an activity, then you just send an
electronic message to me at thefollowing address: Carpool @
representative . com Note that I have put spaces in the address for
clarity, so if you want tocopy-paste that address, you will need to
remove the spaces. I willthen facilitate a communication link to riders
and drivers alike. BUT I
WILL NOT DO THE PLANNING OR ARRANGEMENTS FOR
ANY TRIP... this is ONLY for connecting riders and drivers who canthen
make arrangements on their own. If you respond to this service,then I
take ABSOLUTELY NO RESPONSIBILITY for the detailsand arrangements and
results of any trip I facilitate! I am only going tobe an information
coordinator and liaison between parties, not themanager. So, THUS FAR, we
have two events that require car-pooling:1) The Democratic National
Convention protest in Denver, Colorado2) The Republican National
Convention protest in Saint Paul, Minnesota. I need to know WHO WOULD
LIKE to obtain a ride, and WHOWOULD LIKE to offer a ride, and, I need to
know from the driverswhat your group-ride carpool conditions are: i.e.
such considerationsas how you have your travel expense requirements,
information onlodging arrangements (i.e. separate lodging or group
lodging), howmany riders your vehicle can LEGALLY accept, etc. I may
evenconsider posting information on bus charters FOR a charter organizerJUST
FOR INFORMATION. The DETAILS must be specified by both the riders and the
drivers. I hope this service will be considered valuable and helpful to
