[Iowa-dx] Date and Location of Iowa Green Party Convention?

Reminder, the ACLU of Iowa annual membership conference (everyone is welcome 
though) is Saturday afternoon, April 12, at the IMU.  We will have three 
tracks (sorry, I can't remember the topics) with three sessions in a row for 
each track with a different speaker in each one.

Last I heard from our co-chairs, Iowa City in May, unless somewhere else 
wants to host it!

It would be good to have a firm decision, soon.  I've checked the public 
library and rooms are available now, but would need to be reserved, soon. 
We would want to figure out if we want a keynote speaker or guest speaker of 
some kind?

As for locations other than the library, the campus is off limits unless we 
come up with a ton of money or a student organization to sponsor the event. 
(There is only one student group that we could approach, and I am not 
confident they would be willing to sponsor a "partisan" event, since their 
membership is what I'd call "trans-partisan"); the other 
anti-war/progressive groups here are more "townie".  So far, it appears that 
Friday nights and Saturday in April and May are open for both the large room 
and a decent-sized meeting room with large table, dry erase board, etc (that 
would work well for a state committee meeting, with the larger room for a 
larger crowd, speaker,  film, whatever).  The site is right downtown (more 
convenient than the IMU, in fact), parking nearby, free, etc.


So - ??  just let me know if and when to book (a) room(s); or, if this is 
moving too far ahead -
