IOWA N.E.W. LEADERSHIP APPLICATIONS DUE MARCH 7, 2008!
Iowa N.E.W. Leadership is an intensive five-day
residential institute designed to help undergraduate women
develop public leadership skills, learn about civic
involvement, and network with women in public leadership
from across the state. Developed by The Center for
American Women and Politics at Rutgers in 1991, and
conducted at 17 universities nationwide, this prestigious
non-partisan program has supported aspiring leaders
throughout the country for over 16 years.
The Iowa N.E.W. Leadership summer institute will be held
June 1-6, 2008 on the University of Iowa Campus in Iowa
City. We are pleased to announce that Lieutenant Governor
Patty Judge will deliver the keynote address.
The Women's Resource and Action Center is committed to
including women from diverse socioeconomic, ethnic,
racial, and educational backgrounds in each Iowa N.E.W.
Leadership class. Participants are selected through a
competitive application process. To ensure financial
accessibility, food, housing, and program materials will
be provided at no cost.
