Charlie King (http://charlieking.org) is a musical storyteller and
political satirist. His repertoire covers a century and a half and
four continents. He sings and writes passionately about the
extraordinary lives of ordinary people.

Jim Scott (http://jimscottmusic.com) is an exciting acoustic
guitarist, singer, and composer of powerful music that furthers the
ideals of ecology, justice, and peace. One of the rare musicians who
have transcended stylistic boundaries, Jim has recorded or shared the
stage with luminaries from the jazz, classical and folk music worlds.

Charlie and Jim have been at the heart of American music for over 40
years. From 1977-84 Jim toured with world music innovators, the Paul
Winter Consort, while Charlie traveled with the folk cabaret troupe
Bright Morning Star. It was then that Jim and Charlie first performed
together at anti-nuclear and peace events. In 2007 they began
developing and performing a common repertoire to tour with in 2008 and
beyond.

Charlie's songs have been recorded and sung by other performers such
as Arlo Guthrie, Holly Near, Ronnie Gilbert, John McCutcheon, Peggy
Seeger and Chad Mitchell. Jim has traveled around the world:
performing with the likes of Pete Seeger and Peter Yarrow; recording
with renowned drummer Steve Gadd and bassist Tony Levin as well as
jazz greats Nelson Rangell and Ed Tossing; touring Europe with the
Griffith Singers and Nicaragua with Holly Near.

Jim has led thousands in the song "Common Ground" and his own
eco-anthem, "A Song For The Earth." He was co-composer of the Winter
Consort's monumental choral work, "Missa Gaia/Earth Mass," and
recorded "A Concert for the Earth" in the Great Hall of the United
Nations. Charlie's honors include: an "Indie" award for a top folk
recording in 1984; the War Resisters League Peacemaker Award given to
Charlie and to Odetta in1998; and the Sacco-Vanzetti Social Justice
Award, which Pete Seeger nominated him for in 1999.

>From Carnegie Hall and the Newport Jazz Festival to schools, campuses
and Unitarian Churches across the country Jim Scott spins musical
dreams of harmony for a world transformed by the ideals of ecology,
justice, and peace. Paul Winter said of his long time collaborator
"His music sings of the life spirit."

Charlie sings out the spirit of the folk music revival of the 1960's,
the civil rights movement and the Vietnam War era. Folk legend Peggy
Seeger says, "If we had more Charlie Kings in the world I'd be less
worried," and Tom Paxton adds, "Luckily, we have him!" The common
thread that binds these two performers is a sense of optimism and
possibility about the future. They are hope mongers, singing for a
better tomorrow.
