Green presidential candidate Cynthia McKinney to
make campaign stops in DC and Maryland on
Tuesday, Feb. 19
=95 Former Georgia member of Congress will speak at
Howard University and the University of Maryland
in College Park; Ms. McKinney won the DC primary
on Feb. 12
WASHINGTON, DC -- Green presidential candidate
Cynthia McKinney will visit the Washington, DC,
area for three campaign appearances on Tuesday,
February 19:
=95 Press conference, time (morning) and location
(in Washington, DC) to be announced shortly: Ms.
McKinney will discuss her Power to the People
Campaign for the Presidency

photographers are encouraged to attend.
=95 12 noon: Ms. McKinney will speak to students
and faculty at the Nyumburu Cultural Center, at
the University of Maryland in College Park. The
event will be open to the media and the public.
=95 7 pm: Ms. McKinney will speak in Washington,
DC, at Howard University in the Locke Hall
auditorium. Ms. McKinney will show 'American
Blackout' <http://www.americanblackout.org>, an
award-winning documentary on the
disenfranchisement of African-American voters in
recent elections and the odds she faced in her
own reelection to Congress. The event will be
open to the media and the public.
Cynthia McKinney will be accompanied at these
events by Capitol Resistance, a hip-hop-based

Ms. McKinney, a former six-term US Representative
from Georgia, came in first among the six Green
candidates on the ballot in the February 12
primary election in the District of Columbia

send 16 delegates to the Green Party's 2008 Green
National Nominating Convention in Chicago, July
