Yes, and I want to make sure that what I said on the organizing action
side does not imply that people are not justified in making financial
contributions to a struggling Green Party group trying to get official
party registration or at least on the ballot. THAT aspect is very
important and a great idea. I just think that if there are not the
members to go out and solicit their party to the public for signatures,
THEN there probably is not enough substantiation for them to exist in
the first place.
We went through that here in Iowa, and managed to be listed as a
"political organization" pending party status in Iowa when we get
enough registered members. I can live with that process, because the
Assessor's Office (who handles our election system in Iowa) will have
the official records of those voters registering as Green Organization
members, and it is then simple matter to just petition for our promotion
to official party status when we get enough members.
