"Now that I've said I've retired, Cubans will look to you, Raul."
"This will be one good joke if Bush bites the hook," Fidel's brother said
in Cuban-Spanish to Fidel. "I really don't think Bush is smart enough to
know what to do about this."
"He's fallen for much less intelligent things," Fidel wise-cracked.
"Yes, but dumb as he is, he still has people who can see beyond their
noses, and remember, Bush isn't really the US President, he's just their
puppet," Raul countered, "Dick Cheeny is their president, and they aren't
that dumb, they'll know you're still in power as the head of Cuba's
communist party! But maybe Bush will convince his cult followers that
you aren't still in power, that might work, nobody is as dumb and
ignorant as a Republican! They'll >believe< anything they're told to
believe by a Republican authority!"
