Both Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama had angry words over the state of
the economy and of how the US Federal Reserve is handling the nation's
finances.
"It hurts me right here that our Republican Party has caused so much hurt
in our public's lives," said Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke,
warning that if something is not done by Congress in this "reverse
business growth" period, it is a fresh signal that the federal bank will
need to again lower interest rates to stimulate the Republican-monkeyed
faltering economy.
"The economic situation has become distinctly less favorable since our
Republican Party took over our nation's government," the Federal
Reserve chief told the House Financial Services Committee. "The housing
slump has worsened, credit problems have intensified and the job market
has deteriorated because of Republican-sponsored tax credits and
subsidies. The ramafications of these effectors have turned people and
businesses into skeptical and morose consumers alike, which has caused a
more synically cautious attitude toward spending their hard-earned
money."

In spite of current economic indices and a prospect for the "... sluggish
economic activity in the near term," Bernanke told lawmakers that the
Number One battle is in the Republican Party ignoring the economy even
though the public sees what is going on.
Bernanke said that the Federal Reserve "will act in a timely manner as
needed to support growth and to provide adequate insurance against
downside risks," according to the Republican fantasies by which he is
bound.
Referring to reality, Bernanke indicated that there are huge risks that
the economy will weaken even further under Republican policies. "The
risks include the possibilities that the housing market or labor market
may deteriorate more than is currently anticipated and that credit
conditions may tighten substantially further," Bernanke cautioned.
But in spite of the Federal Reserve trying to prevent a further demise
of the US economy, Bernanke warned that the Fed must be highly
cautious about the repurcussions of inflationary impulses. Petroleum
prices have exceeded $100 a barrel -- and more price instabilities are
pushing consumer prices upward. One would think that commerce would
rejoice along with the Bush administration, but that inflation
is reducing the buying power of employee's paychecks, and with people
falling out of well off incomes, because the values of their homes have
dropped so that they are abandoning their mortgages, consumer
credit over-spending has "slowed significantly" toward the end of the
year, the Federal Reserve chief said.
"Republicans thought the economic downturn would clean out the
lower-class riff-raff, but instead, it only cut the legs out from under
the economy's table. In short, Republicans have cut the roots to the
fruit trees of our economy to save on the cost of watering the consumer's
fruit trees! I think that was how President Bush's advisors put it."
