"I'm tahrd of hearin about how My country is headed inta a recession, it
just is not so," scolded President Bush on Thursday. "Unless you hear it
from me it just is not true! You gotta be good Christyun believers in
this! Well, if you're Jewish then that way too! Uhhh.... and you other
believers too! Yeah, I guess even you Muslims!"
Bush has maintained that His country is not in a recession and, despite
alluding to His awareness of the slowing "reverse economic growth", He
adamantly rejected any additional stimulus efforts. "We've acted
row-bustly," He said.
"We'll see thuh effects of this pro-growth package very soon now," Bush
admonished reporters at His White House news conference. "I know there's
a lot of, uhhhhh.... uhhhh.... here in Washington... uhhhhh.... oh
yeah... people... people are trying ta.... uhhhh... 'stimulus package
two' .... uhhhhh.... and all that stuff. Why don't We let stimyulus
package one, uhhhh.... which ta Me seemed like a good idea at the time,
and I think it still is.... We have ta give it ... uhhh.. have a chance
to kick in?"
