If you go to these two sites listed below, on the right side of the page =
and just to the left of the word "caucus" or "primary", the name of the =
state in small print is a link for at least for the first several races. =
  Clink on the name of the state any it will take you to a page that has =
a paragraph toward the bottom that answers your question.  Usually it's =
a combination of elected and appointed. =20

I looked at the sites more carefully and realized that many states =
listed for Super Tuesday, Feb. 5, do not have links to their own pages.  =
Perhaps with time more information will be added.
