SAVE THE DATE: Economic Human Rights Conference
A free Economic Human Rights Conference will be held from 9 a.m. to 4:30
p.m. Saturday, Jan. 26, in the 3rd Floor Ballroom of Iowa Memorial Union
on the UI campus. Registration begins at 8 a.m., and childcare and food
will be provided free of charge. The conference. sponsored by the
Economic Human Rights Group, is intended to raise community awareness and
empower those affected by situations that impact their rights to work and
to earn a livable wage, as detailed in the Universal Declaration of Human
Rights' Articles 23-25. The conference will include a keynote speaker,
Cheryl Honkala; workshops on resources and rights; and a legislative
listening panel.

The Economic Human Rights Group is a group of concerned advocates who
seek to be a catalyst for the formation of a local Poor People's Economic
Human Rights Campaign Group so that people can be equipped with the
resources to advocate for change. For more information on the group or
