That's what I was hoping. I know in the past we have set the date and
location rather late, and as a result have not been able to get much
publicity out before the event. I was hoping that this year we could
set those two crucial items well in advance, if possible.

There's the potential for some activity from college students this
year, especially if Obama does not do well after tonight. That energy
will need an outlet, and the Green Party could be the beneficiary of a
failed Obama campaign. Our positions on issues lines up with those of
the young people who have been supporting Obama, according to the
polls that I have seen. It would be good for our College Green
chapters, if we have any that are active, to be putting out some
feelers right now and perhaps sponsoring some issue forums on campus.

It's been {mumble} years since I was a college student, so I do not
rightly know what their schedule is like any more. I would love to
hear from one of them on this list as to what dates might work to have
the best chance of attracting them.

But that should not be our only concern. The two major parties have
their county conventions in March, their district conventions in late
April or early May, and their state conventions are usually in June.
It would be nice to avoid those dates so we stand a better chance of
getting publicity in the media for our meeting...maybe even a reporter
or two to pay us a visit.

We should also check with the schedules of any of the GP candidates
running here in Iowa as to what dates would work best for them. Having
candidates speak could draw the media, and having media there is good
for our candidates. Same to be said for any GP Presidential
candidates that could make it to our meeting.

Lots of coordination could take place if we have the time to pull it
off. But to do so we should start looking at calendars and locations
now, not later.
