I hate to say this, but "they" will just figure another way around it.=A0 T=
hey always do!
The federal government has stopped trying to "prevent" twelve-year-old hack=
ers from
entering their data bases, although that is not to say that they do not try=
to put a
formidable interference "fence" in their programs. It is impossible to kee=
p someone
out of your data base if they are sophisticated. However, most of us do no=
t have to
worry, because the most sophisticated hackers usually (not always) have to =
have a reason
to target someone, and few of us warrant being targetted. However, it is n=
ot unheard
of for a team of hackers to intrude into personal data bases en-masse and t=
hen sift
through information they find of interest.
The federal government, instead, now focuses on CATCHING data stealers and =
intruders,
which is not as difficult as preventing intrusions. And the penalties are s=
evere:
twenty years in prision without possibility of parole
a heavy fine with a maximum fine in the hundreds of thousands of dollars
confiscation of all computer hardware, data, software, notes and publicatio=
ns
prohibition from ALL use of public or private telephone/cellphone during pr=
obation
prohibition from OWNING or USING any computer and computer product during p=
robation
