Geraldine Ferraro seemed to be saying: "I guess we cannot tell the truth
any more, it's too politically improper!"
The former US presidential candidate resigned Wednesday from her honorary
position in Senator Hillary Rodham-Clinton's presidential candidacy
because of the discord her comments made when she stated that Senator
Barack Obama would not be so popular in his presidential candidacy if
it was not for the fact that he is black. Ms. Ferraro sent a letter of
resignation to Senator Clinton on Wednesday, telling the presidential
contender that she would not be serving her finance committee as
"Honorary New York Leadership Council Chair."
The letter to Clinton was first disclosed by CNN, in which Ferraro is
said to say: "Dear Hillary, I am stepping down from your finance
committee so I can speak for myself, and you can continue to speak for
yourself about what's at stake in this campaign. The Obama campaign is
attacking me to hurt you. I won't let that happen. Thank you for
everything you've done and continue to do to make this a better world for
my children and grandchildren. You have my deep admiration and respect,
Gerry."
Senator Barack Obama retaliated, by calling Geraldine Ferraro's comments
"ridiculous", and his campaign staff has demanded that Senator
Clinton denounce Ferraro's poltical assessment of Obama. "I think they
were wrong-headed," he said at a Chicago news conference. "The notion
that it is a great advantage to me to be an African American named Barack
Obama and pursue the presidency, I think, is not a view that has been
commonly shared by the general public. I never did play the race card,
but I still maintain that it's the general public's view that if you do
not vote for me and you're a Democrat, then you are racially prejudiced!=20
I like that, but I didn't say that! Ha ha ha ha ha...."

small step for mysuperiority as the Democratic Party candidate, and one
huge leap for The Establishment!"
Senator Hillary Clinton's campaign spokesman Howard Wolfson said
that Ferraro resigned her honorary position on her own choice.
This continues the back-and-forth between two of the Democratic
trailblazers -- Obama, seeking to be the nation's first black president
as an Establishment candidate who appreciates conservativism, and
Ferraro, who was the first woman to run for US presidential in 1984 --
are engaged presently in a continuing second day of counter-charges
during their appearances on network and cable morning news programs. The
conflict between the two started when the national media noted a few
comments Ferraro made during an interview last week with the Daily Breeze
newspaper in Torrance, Calif.: "If Obama was a white man, he would not be
in this position. And if he was a woman, of any color, he would not be in
this position. He happens to be very lucky to be who he is. And the
country is caught up in the concept."
Ms. Ferraro adamantly asserts Obama's success in the Democratic campaign
is due "in part" to his race, and she only hints at Obama's Establishment
connection by a party infiltration of the world corporate cartels.
Senator Obama retorted in kind, saying that if one in his campaign had
suggested that Senator Hillary Rodham-Clinton "is where she is only
because she is a woman" she would be offended, and then Obama laughed.=20
"That woman," Obama muttered, shaking his head.
But Senator Hillary Clinton is a very intelligent woman who has noted the
tactics of Obama, and she said that she disagrees with Ferraro's remarks.
In her interview by The Associated Press, she said, "It's regrettable
that any of our supporters -- on both sides, because we both have this
experience -- say things that kind of veer off into the personal."=20
Clinton suggested that by getting derailed into falsification when
all Ferraro did was to state the obvious overt realities, the real issues
are being subverted and the song-and-dance act of Obama continues
unchallenged.
"That woman," Obama smiled, "people are so dumb! I've got 'em eating out
of my Establishment hand! McCain won't have to worry about a thing when
I drop out just before the election like John Kerry did in '04, McCain's
a shoe-in!"
