It's with both regret and enthusiastic good wishes that I say our loss is D=
C's gain - it's Daryl who has provided an invaluable service to IAGP during=
his term as co-chair, chair of his local chapter and delegate to the natio=
nal committee. We are sorry to see you go, but also excited for this gre=
at opportunity for both of you. (And DC is so much FUN!) .

Fellow Greens-
Although some of you knew this announcement was coming, I would like to off=
icially post it to the dx and wk mailing lists.
Effective 12pm on July 1st, 2008, I will resign as co-chair of the Iowa Gre=
en Party.
Effective immediately, I am resigning as one of Iowa's delegates to the Nat=
ional Committee of the Green Party-US.
This fall, my wife and I are moving to Washington DC (or suburban VA) to be=
gin a new chapter in our lives. I have been accepted to the Political Manag=
ement Masters degree program at George Washington University. This program =
focuses on campaign management, political leadership, voter behavior, organ=
izing, etc- basically all the things it takes to grow the Green Party local=
ly and at a national level. My wife will be transitioning out of the insura=
nce industry and into something hopefully much more exciting and engaging f=
or her.
I look forward to my studies in DC, and to using the tools given to me to e=
xpand the Green Party, and assist candidates in their campaigns - and of co=
urse help my own future campaigns!
The Iowa Green Party has supported, coached, guided, and assisted me in my =
political growth from day one of my contact with them in late 2000, after t=
he election brought the Green Party to my attention. For this, I will alway=
s be grateful.
The program at GW is two years, and as to where the future will lead, who k=
nows? Perhaps Maine, California, Wisconsin, or anywhere else a local or sta=
te Green Party needs my help.
The dnorthrop@polkcogreens.org<mailto:dnorthrop@polkcogreens.org> email add=
ress will be active for the next few months. However, I urge all of you to =
update my email listing to my permanent address: daryl.northrop@gmail.com<m=
ailto:daryl.northrop@gmail.com>
In Green Solidarity,
Daryl
