Congratulations Deanna!!!
*better u than me, i had a 'close call" in Feb. my oldest is 21 so i'm glad
it was a "false alarm"!
Anyway, here in Tulsa and in the broader OK, we've a police force which is
for the most part, looking the other way in the broader realm of
undocumented citizens. Our gov. passed a bill to help college fees for those
following 'channels' to obtain a green card. *a totally cumbersome process.

Here in Maine we had a raid a few years back and it was horrible for the
folks they targeted[Somalians[sp]] who in their country when asked for their
ID were then killed, had to go through the same thing here, not knowing what
was to happen! It was awful. People were hiding in their home and not
allowing their children to go to school out of fear. So the people marched
in the street[accompanied by many folks like myself] and met with both the
Mayor and the Governor[who passed a law that the Boarder Patrol[who was
responsible for the raid] could not come into the city and do it again. Only
to find out in the last election[where he got re-elected by only 38%] that
he had in the night away from the eyes of the public[shortly after]
rescinded this law. I am sure pressure from the current administration had a
lot to do with it. But I have watched the round ups going on on CNN. It is a

Immigration raids: We had one in Utah - how the agents decided who was 
undocumented and who wasn't????? Light skin vs. dark skin - and as a 
result, U.S. citizens were arrested as well. Why aren't the employers 
in trouble?

Anyway, my new grandson's mother is (indigenous) Peruvian and my son is 
about 1/4 Portugese - and yes, has dark skin. What is his future with 
this stuff going on?

Any other stories out there about similar raids? I heard Texas has 
been targeted as well.
