Evy,

Your suggestion that Greens demand a multinational UN peacekeeping force
in Lebanon would be a reasonable one, if only we had a practical means
of implementing such a plan without playing into the hands of the global
warmongers and empire builders. But the only way this demand could
possibly "frustrate the Bush regime's plan for total control of the
mid-east...(and beyond)" is if the UN force you are calling for is
totally independent of the U.S. and its geo-political strategy for the
Middle East. That's a big "if."

You can be sure that the U.S. will soon be supporting a "multinational
peacekeeping force" in Lebanon, but it wil be one controlled by the
Pentagon and by U.S. intelligence. Look for NATO to play a lead role,
because the UN has been kicked to the curb by the Washington-Tel Aviv
military axis and will probably be utilized only for a humanitarian role
in patching up and feeding bleeding and hungry Lebanese civilians. After
the bombing and bulldozing is finished, of course..

If Greens want to unite behind a principled call for peace in the
region, try a Campaign for a Nuclear Free Middle East. You will find
that every country in the region, including Syria and Iran, including
the most radical and militant groups, will embrace the idea of zero
tolerance for nuclear weapons in the region. They will agree to submit
to rigorous inspections that would guarantee non-proliferation of these
weapons, but only on the condition that the same regime be applied to
ALL nations. Guess which countries are opposed to a nuclear free Middle
East? Israel and the U.S., of course. The two nations who currently
represent the greatest danger to world peace. 'Nuff said.

are successfully manipulating American public opinion playing everyone
like the proverbial fiddle. In one week The Bush regime has been able

Machiavellian genius...
I must remain a peace broker while I deal with the evils of my own
country which does have global significance.
Given the Green Party's relatively fledgling development, without
the strong voice necessary to initiate policy, the smartest thing I
think we can do, without shooting ourselves in the foot, is frustrate
the Bush regime's plan for total control of the mid-east...(and beyond).
By demanding a multi-national peace keeping force, I think the
Greens could become more visible and instrumental in motivating big
support of peace activists. Let us initiate and call for picketing
around foreign embassies, and the U.N...."Unite for Peace"... I think,
The Greens could initiate this internationally.... In this I think we
could be boldly effective...
Let us keep our focus on party building to get a powerful
governmental voice... In this way we can make the significant changes
necessary to institute our 10 Key Values internationally...
I still prefer using my energy moving toward what I want to see
happen, rather than ineffectively pushing against and being controlled
by the adversary..... (especially if it thwarts my development)
This above all, to thine own self be true.....
