Subject: [GPUS-PAX] p&ps

Hi Liz and all,
We are starting from here for p&ps:
[skip background section]

http://gp.org/cgi-bin/vote/propdetail?pid=3D238

And we have a few things to add, like define the
term of secretary, deliniate the voting method -
once we come up with and agree to one - and
include a method for dealing with conflicts -
I like the member policy in the ecoaction p&ps
and propose we use that as our model:
http://gp.org/cgi-bin/vote/propdetail?pid=3D195

There were some concerns about our expedited decision
process - I think if we clean up the language a
bit, it will be clear that it is not simply up to the
officers to decide. The officers check in on the
list. That was a concern from a delegate from my
state, Linda Myatt.

It is up to us to decide whether we think committees
should be able to endorse actions as a subentity or
if we want to come up with a system to get the SC
into the loop. Obviously if we go with the former and
the NC clarifies that we may not do this, then we
will have to change. Curious how people feel about
this.

These are the main concerns that were articulated.
Some felt we should have a member removal procedure.
I feel we should be more cautious about feeling we
can over-ride states/caucuses. That is why I propose
we take the eco-action approach. If others can weigh
in, then Liz and I can come up with text that captures
the feeling of the group.

Sorry I am so behind on this and for missing the call.
My campaign meeting tonight went late and I couldn't
get back home to get onto the call. Apologies, especially
for the equally busy ones who managed to be on the call.

Regards,
Aimee
