While I have had pause on several occasions to get up nerve to write a
letter to the editor since the terrible catastrophe of Sept 11th, 2001,
watching missed opportunity after missed opportunity to unite not divide and
lead our country, and to render our constitution, our people, our union and
republic stronger and more secure. Now, 5 years later, not feeling safer or
freer, rather the opposite, as I watch the indecent anarchy of democrats and
republicans put forth their valueless programs whose true interest is by and
for big money with unlimited access to the CNN/Fox/Limbaugh/NY Times media,
I am compelled after reading yesterday's headline in the Miami Herald to
write this letter.
Sept 12th Headline read:
"In a surprise decision, a federal magistrate in Texas has recommended that
Cuban exile militant Luis Posada Carriles be released from immigration
custody"
This is a man who fled custody while on trial for blowing up a civilian
airline, murdering 73 passengers including the pilots and stewards.
> Rather than promote a rule of law, responsibility, and human values, our
> so-called leaders continue to pander to fear and fear-mongering rather
