Let's keep the discussion going on this but on the discussion list only,
untill
such time as we have a proposed action happening.
Thanks,
joni
I finally found it!
this was from a while back but still something we as a committee needs to
adress.
With A28 coming up, perhaps we as gpax could be a visible impetus for
action?
http://a28.org/
I have also brought up the issue that the GPAX has not and still is
not doing anything to carry out the mandate in the July 19, 2003
Impeachment resolution, as follows:
"2. Constituting a subcommittee of the Peace Action Committee to plan
and to coordinate activities within the Green Party of the United
States and with other organizations working for the impeachment of
George W. Bush."
This is a clear and vital directive, amended to also include Cheney.
Has the GPAX even discussed it? Has the SC or the portfolio co-chair
of the GPAX done anything to see that this directive is carried out?
If this had been carried out, we could have been in the forefront of
this movement by now. There has been almost four years that we could
have been organizing it.
Is the ultimate responsibility for carrying out such mandate just on
the committee or is it the SC or is it the NC?
We are or have missed a huge opportunity. Can we get it going? GPAX?
SC? NC? Who is going to take this up? Does anyone care that an
important NC directive has not been carried out, not even started?
Can someone on the SC and someone on the GPAX please talk about this?
The *hog-tied* statement cannot be an excuse in this situation,
because the GPAX was given about as strong a go-ahead by the NC as
I've ever seen, as documented in the resolution.
