I'm glad we're having a group looking into it, i get so keyed up,
just wanting the killing to end that i don't often look at the sustainable
peace
which is looking at the truths of the matter.
I understand about posting to the dix list.
if you all get a darfur working group e mail up and going i could forward
onto there, but
as i can see, i would probably not be of too much help in this.
I face the same naivete in regards to anti DU issues among people who've
become well
educated and can see the difference between govt. propaganda which does more
to convolute
any real change than anything else.
I have great hopes that the committee/working group who gather to seriously
explore this
and our response will have some well thought out approaches and resources
for those of us
not wishing to make things worse by perpetuating planted or false
information.

This article is flawed because it claims that those
organizing the Save Darfur organization are human
rights activists. They are not. I recommend the work
by Ed Herman on "the cruise missile left" to learn of
many examples where militarists pose as humanitarians.
This is just another in a long line.
The "clash" is also because Save Darfur in their ads
claimed to speak for humanitarian aid orgs.
Many sincere people are caught up in their campaign,
but that coalition was formed on fraud with the attention
of using the people of Darfur for political objectives.
In any case, it is best to forward articles such as these
to peace-discussion since we have a working group
to look at all of this, in my opinion.
