in Washington, DC, and Los Angeles, in demand for

WASHINGTON , DC -- Green Party activists are joining thousands of =20
other Americans in

march and rally on
September 29.
The events have been organized by the Troops Out
Now Coalition <http://www.troopsoutnow.org>, of which the Green Party =20
is a member.
The Green Party of the United States has called for full and immediate =20
withdrawal of US
troops from Iraq and has urged Congress to cancel funding for the war, =20
and to use federal
funds for human needs and services in the US, including restoration =20
and rebuilding in the
Gulf Coast.
Events include:
=95 WASHINGTON, DC: Sarah "echo" Steiner, Florida Green and national =20
Green Party co-chair,
will co-emcee the September 29 rally. Malik Rahim, former Green city =20

<http://www.commongroundrelief.org>, and DC Statehood Green Party =20
member Jared Ball,
candidate for the Green Party's presidential nomination =20
<http://www.jaredball.com>, will
speak at the rally. On Wednesday, September 26, DC Statehood Party =20
leaders will lead a
discussion on DC statehood, affordable housing, and preserving =20
neighborhood libraries
threatened with closing. Mr. Rahim will also speak on Thursday, =20

response to Hurrican Katrina and rebuilding the Gulf Coast. Greens =20
have set up a

scheduled to speak at
the rally. More information: <http://www.peacecouncil.net> or
<http://www.upstateantiwar.net> or
<http://www.myspace.com/spcspace>.
Greens have especially targeted Democrats in Congress, criticizing =20
Democratic leaders and
presidential candidates for offering vague and delayed withdrawal =20
timetables for troop
withdrawal.
The party has also demanded impeachment of President Bush and Vice =20
President Cheney for
numerous high crimes and misdemeanors, including deceiving the =20
American public on the
need to invade Iraq, which Greens have called a serious
violation of the US Constitution and numerous international laws.
