Hello, everyone.

I’m Robert Caldwell, CC member and treasurer of the Green Party of
Louisiana. I was a delegate in Milwaukee. I work full time and am very
active. The volume on this list-especially multiple posts from the same
person in a day- is a bit overwhelming. Could the moderator please switch
me to daily digest?

I think this committee should have a nominations process and vote on who our
facilitators will be. Let’s get our process down first.

A real concern I have about Milwaukee is that delegates didn’t have
collective or individual speaking rights from the floor, nor were motions
from the floor allowed. I believe that the convention should have a right
to approve its own agenda, etc. I also think the primary phase was
confusing. I will poll other delegates and my state coordination committee
for additional concerns.

Despite being from a “small” state, on apportionment, I think Steve
Greenfield’s comments are basically on target. Califronia and New York are
over 1/2 of the national membership. They need reprsentation. We also want
to build a national party, which requires some minimal representation of all
affiliated state parties. Overcompensation or "defensiveness" will not help
us move forward.
