Jim Buckmaster, the chief executive of Craigslist, caused lots of =20
head-scratching Thursday as he tried to explain to a bunch of Wall =20
Street types why his company is not interested in =93monetizing=94 his =20=
ridiculously popular Web operation. Appearing at the UBS global media =20=
conference in New York, Mr. Buckmaster took questions from the =20
bemused audience, which apparently could not get its collective mind =20
around the notion that Craigslist exists to help Web users find jobs, =20=
cars, apartments and dates =97 and not so much to make money...=
