[A dim bulb Democrat from Texas is now to chair the House =20
Intelligence Committee! Too bad they don't have an unintelligence =20
committee seat for him. -- Roger]

Another Reason for Texans to Be Embarrassed

Tuesday, December 12th in Terrorism, Islam, Politics by Jeremy =20

Is this for real?

I=92m still incredulous of what I have just read. Rep. Silvestre Reyes =20=

(D-TX), has been appointed the new chairman of the House Intelligence =20=

Committee, on which he has served for the last six years. This is a =20
person you=92d expect to be more than basically knowledgeable of the =20
world in which he lives. Well, surprise! You=92d expect wrong. =20
Silvestre Reyes just found out last week that al-Qaeda is Sunni, and =20
what Hezbollah is. Actually, I=92m not so sure these items were =20
resolved, I just know that when asked, he whined about being asked =20
questions so late in the afternoon.

Here are the schadenfreudelicious tidbits for you all to enjoy:

Al Qaeda is what, I asked, Sunni or Shia?

=93Al Qaeda, they have both,=94 Reyes said. =93You=92re talking about =20=

predominately?=94

=93Sure,=94 I said, not knowing what else to say.

=93Predominantly =97 probably Shiite,=94 he ventured.

Reyes has to have spent six years on the House Intel Committee =20
playing solitaire on his Palm to =97 wait, no. Reyes has to be a RETARD =20=

to not know that al-Qaeda is a Sunni organization. Not only that, his =20=

answer =97 with the =93predominantly=94 in there =97 makes it obvious =
that he =20
doesn=92t even understand the fanaticism of the likes of al-Qaeda. Al-=20=

Qaeda is 100% Sunni, there is no minority faction. As the interviewer =20=

mentioned, =93If a Shiite showed up at an al-Qaeda club house, they=92d =20=

slice off his head and use it for a soccer ball.=94

And Hezbollah? I asked him. What are they?

=93Hezbollah. Uh, Hezbollah=85=94

He laughed again, shifting in his seat.

=93Why do you ask me these questions at five o=92clock? Can I answer in =20=

Spanish? Do you speak Spanish?=94

=93Poquito,=94 I said=97a little.

=93Poquito?! =93 He laughed again.

=93Go ahead,=94 I said, talk to me about Sunnis and Shia in Spanish.

Reyes: =93Well, I, uh=85.=94

You see, Reyes has apparently never even heard of Hezbollah. You=92d =20
think he would have at least known of them from when they blew up the =20=

Marine barracks in Lebanon in 1983, since they have been termed =20
=93terrorists=94 by the US ever since that day.

There is nothing left to conclude except that Reyes has gone to work =20
every day and literally not paid attention for a second to his work. =20
In fact, he can=92t even have read a newspaper very many times in the =20=

past decade, something over which the Democrats love to pick on the =20
President. This will (hopefully) go down in history lumped with the =20
hilarity of Ted =93Tubes=94 Stevens and the Foley fiasco as proof that =20=

the government is staffed not with experts (even in their own =20
fields!) and the pure of heart, but with morons with the right =20
connections who just want to show up and get their check.
