Joseph,
I might not have been as clear as I could. I actually loved Olbermann's speech.
I hope I made that clear. I wouldn't have muted it or toned it down at all.
Again I thought it was great. What I was referring to when I said "spewing hate
and fear" I was actually referring to the other corporate media giants that also
have opinionated commentary from their anchors, but that don't always say things
I agree with. Fox News being who I had in mind that "spews hate and fear". I'm
sorry if I did not make that clear enough. So I am torn when great speeches
come from the wrong place. I love it when Olbermann does it, but I hate it when
O'Reily does it. And it probably shouldn't be done at all from someone the
public is suppose to trust for unbiased news reporting. Integrity in news
reporting is just the facts, in my opinion. Commentary has no place but to draw
into question the network's fair and balanced reporting on all other reports.
So having this view of commentary from news organizations, you can see how I am
torn when Olbermann gives such a tremendous speech calling attention to an
integral step in the erosion of this great country.

shameless and violent acts as the signing of legislation to deny citizens the
precious freedoms, with no recourse. That deserves and calls for a response that
is bold, unafraid, AND ASSERTIVE. None of that is hate and fear. It is rather a
rightful assertion of a constitutional right that is approprioate. It is the
protest of a caring citizen speaking for the benefit of all freedom loving

I Do not mistake such powerful expressions as hate. They are more the words
of one speaking with strength and courage. To confront the powerful and ruthless
ones who are commiting crimes against our very fundamental human needs for
civility and respect: respect fro the human need ot be free of coercion, to be
protected by our laws from those who would rob us of our inherited
constitutional rights to be free of unwarratned and wrongful acts of goevernment
agents: military, national security agency, CIA, local police, FBI, etc. etc.
Remember the "extraordinary renmditions"? Have you heard the stories and
testimony of even one who has suffered the torture that is now redefined as
acceprtable under the new legislation recently passed? Just one such tortured
victim is too many in my mind. That is indefensible no matter how you look at
it. Its ineffective. Its unlawful. Its a war
crime. Its a violation of basicv human rights in a world where this is a
generally accepted wrongful act.

No, I see a glmmer of hope when I see such a person in their rightful
role as a person giving news and its isignificance in a passionate way. To deny
this type of freedom of expression under the charge of being like those who
would deny us freedom is to mistake true patriotism for unlawful domination
efforts, "hate and fear".

Thanks you for your carimng and comments. I respect your right to make

one way to communciate freely: the internet. For how long is unclear, for there
are those in our world who would want to do soemthing to limit that too.

I foe one am glad that has not yet happened, and I will be sure to vote
for thsoe who are committed to preserving this one way for us all to communcate
freely in our world.
