Generally, corporate media avoids showing anything that would put the consumers
out of a "buying" mood. Focus groups show that it's harder to get excited about
a new cola after being deluged with photos of mangled, bloody toddlers.
I don't believe the Govt particularly cares about the dead bodies of non-whites being shown on TV - after all repeated exposure to bodies help numb the public to scenes of violence that might otherwise cause them to oppose future military action.
All the Best,

Howdy all. I've got a question.
I know the Bush Administration won't allow pictures of coffins coming home or dead soldiers returning home from Iraq to be shown in public news outlets. But my understanding is that the gruesome bloody pictures and video of dead bodies destroyed in the streets of Iraq and now Lebannon are withheld by the media by CHOICE, not by gov'tal hand.
Can anyone testify to these beliefs? I'd like to make sure I'm working with
facts here. Thanks.
