Tonight is your chance to tell Washington policymakers how well the 
media are serving your community.

Please join the National Latino Media Council, Consumers Union and Free 
Press at a "Public Hearing on Media Ownership" in Austin tonight with 
Federal Communications Commissioner Jonathan Adelstein.

Tonight's event happening at a critical juncture. The FCC is 
considering new rules that could change the number of newspapers, radio 
stations and TV stations that one company is allowed to own in one 
area. The Austin event will focus in part on the ways that these 
proposed rule changes would impact the Latino community.

The forum, which is free and open to the public, will include an open 
microphone session for the public to offer testimony on media issues 
directly to Commissioner Adelstein. All testimony will be recorded and 
submitted to the FCC and Texas' congressional delegation.
