Plus we need a serge in troops to secure the legislation to open iraq oil to the
multinational oil companies, which is to be submitted very soon!

... The president put it far more bluntly when leaders of Congress
came to visit Mr. Bush at the White House earlier on Wednesday. “I
said to Maliki this has to work or you’re out,” the president told
the Congressional leaders, according to two officials who were in the
room. Pressed on why he thought this strategy would succeed where
previous efforts had failed, Mr. Bush shot back: “Because it has to.”...
Not only that, but he came close to admitting personal error. And he
says his plan will work "because it has to".
Sounds reassuring coming from Bush, right? But what if it doesn't
work any better than the generals he just fired think it will?
Then we would have to reinstitute the draft and somehow steal a dab
of oil from somewhere. So that we can expand the war just enough to
steal enough more oil to preserve our American way of life. Is that a
plan or what?
A must read; actually all of James Howard Kunstler's stuff is worth
reading, but here he homes in on the heart of our society's denial
regarding the un-sustainability of transportation in the USA.
