One of our nation's favorite patriotic peace activists, Gold Star
Family Mom & leader, CINDY SHEEHAN had a birthday party in Crawford
this past weekend, sold the Camp Casey land and has begun a MARCH to
Washington DC. Her 1st stop is IN HOUSTON TODAY Tuesday July 10, 2007.
1) Houston Peace activists will gather at 2:00 PM at Houston City
Hall (900 Bagby Street) to present a resolution calling for the
IMPEACHMENT of Bush and Cheney. This impeachment resolution so far,
has been endorsed by The Progressive Action Alliance, The World Can't
Wait - Drive Out the Bush Regime, CODEPINK, The Harris County Green
Party, Veterans for Peace, Democracy for Houston, Bay Area New
Democrats (BAND), and The Greater Heights Democratic Club.
2) Cindy Sheehan will participate in the Houston freeway "signs &
message blogging action" 4pm-5:30 pm at the Montrose Bridge over I-59.
3) By 5:30 pm, the group will MARCH along Montrose Blvd to the Mecom
Fountain (historic site of peace protests prior to invading Iraq).
March proceeds along Fannin to the First Unitarian Universalist Church
on Fannin & Southmore with
Sissy Farenthold and Ann Wright opening the program at 6 pm, and
Cindy Sheehan will speak at about 7 pm.
The RALLY is hosted by First UU Church of Houston. 6:00-8:00pm.
Speakers, music, tables & exhibits, then, food & strategizing.
4) Cindy Sheehan and the Marching to Washington DC group will then go
to the camp site for camping overnight.
5) Breakfast and discussions at the camp site.
