Summary notice and invite:

MIDDLE EAST and WEST: Breaking Bread as Neighbors
Discovering Each Other as Culture; Building Peaceful Community

A fun, relaxed, culture rich, potluck style banquet to take place sometime
in early December. A colorful evening of conversation, diversity,
acceptance, discovery, and community.

The banquet is an opportunity for sharing ourselves and our culture with our
neighbors and community at large. To transcend political events which have
strained relations between descendants of the Middle East and the West. We
all have been affected in some way, and we all have something to share. All
ages and all cultures invited, to further build a community of
understanding, appreciation, and unity. This is an opportunity to relate,
to share our experiences, and allow each other to be ourselves. An
opportunity to erode fear and ignorance. An evening of acceptance,
conversation, respect, and peace.

THE PUBLIC BANQUET will consist of prepared dishes from the community.
Preferably bring a dish that says something about you, your culture,
tradition, or family heritage (along with ingredients listings). There will
be activities, music, dance, joy, prayer, speakers, cultural food, with
emphasis on conversation time to discover each others' world.

PERSONAL PRIVATE MEALS will be simultaneously hosted in cities and
neighborhoods across the nation. A website will be established to allow
families to host or attend a dinner. Settings are recommended to be
cultural potlucks in people's home or community centers. The design is the
same, an opportunity to discover rich cultures, to share, to be understood
and accepted. The website will facilitate registration, participation, and
diversity. Downloads and postings will provide assistance with design,
ice-breakers, conversation pieces, and feedback opportunities. Your
personal dinner can be plotted on the future website providing feedback for
the other families and neighborhoods, contributing and connecting your local
effort with the greater peace building community at large.

The evening will occur in early December. The public banquet will reside in
the Austin, Texas area. This is an early notice and call for participation
and ideas. We are seeking culture rich dancers, singers, musicians,
artisans, speakers, volunteers, and web designers. We are looking for
additional activity ideas as well that can help share cultures. All ideas,
suggestions, and creativity welcome.
