Folks -

1. Tell the State Environmental Agency to Pass Strong Rules on
Producer TakeBack

The Texas environmental agency is seeking public comments on the best
ways to implement the producer takeback recycling law passed by the
Texas Legislature in 2007. It's time for Texans to speak up to make
sure that producers offer convenient and responsible recycling
programs for consumers. The **deadline for official public comment is
Monday Feb. 4th**.

2. Press Samsung -the Official HDTV provider for the NFL- to Provide
TV Recycling

Unfortunately, our new Texas e-waste recycling law does NOT cover
televisions. TV producers need to take the initiative, as Sony has, to
provide consumers with these services.

With new flat screen and digital TV technology, American consumers are
buying new TVs in record numbers. New television purchases for Super
Bowl Sunday are up 50% from last year and have more than doubled since
2006.

Manufacturers like Samsung, the official HDTV provider of the NFL, are
making millions off of the sale of new televisions, but doing nothing
to ensure that the hazardous waste their products produce is recycled
responsibly.

It's time to take a stand. Click here to tell Samsung USA's President
Dong-Jin Oh to take responsibility for his company's old TVs:
